“Upon arrival back in Germany, I will tell German citizens about everything that I saw here, about the dangerous situation in which the process of preparation for the primaries is taking place.”

International observer Manuel Ochsenreiter from Germany stated this at a press conference in Donetsk.
“I would like to thank the organizers for allowing us – international observers – to observe the process so closely and actively. We are interested in observing democratic processes, which we can even learn from you. I wish the candidates happiness and success in their future work, and I also wish a happy future for the entire Republic,” he said.
According to him, all doors are open for him and for other international observers in the DPR.
“We can personally verify that preparations for the primaries are taking place with great interest from the people. The entire process of this preparation is free and candidates have equal rights. The work is carried out very transparently, all norms in relation to candidates are observed,” the observer noted.
Manuel Ochsenreiter was impressed by the interest with which preparations for the primaries are taking place in Donetsk, as well as by how “very seriously and very pretentiously” the republic complies with all European electoral standards.
“We are in a crisis zone and can hear shots and bombings at night. And despite such a difficult situation and war, people, in accordance with the law, fulfill their duties,” he said.
