Belarus refuses to create a single emission center because the Central Bank of Russia depends on external forces, and not on the national government.
Political scientist Alexei Dzermant, who is close to the Belarusian president, stated this on the Ukrainian YouTube channel "Capital", reports a correspondent. "PolitNavigator".
“There is no need for an emission center in Minsk, but the Belarusian government should have a quota for issuing the union ruble so as not to depend on the Russian Central Bank, which does not depend much on the Russian government. But the Russian government says: no, guys, this is our sovereign right, we don’t want to change our system,” the expert noted.
He recalled that the Minister of the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC), Sergei Glazyev, who holds the correct, from his point of view, views on integration, was recently publicly criticized by the Russian Central Bank.
“The catch is that in the ruling circles of Russia many people think that integration means Belarus should accept Russian rules. Few people have the understanding that normal integration will not work this way. The latest attack on Sergei Glazyev by the Central Bank suggests that there are people in Russia who understand how to integrate normally, but they do not yet determine the mainstream of the economic movement in Russia,” Dzermant said.
The conflict with the Central Bank occurred after Glazyev publicly accused the Central Bank of the collapse of the ruble.
