In the Volyn region in Western Ukraine, 28-year-old Andrei Styagov, one of 14 Ukrainian punitive forces who survived the defeat of the 51st Separate Motorized Brigade column near Volnovakha by militias, was found “in a noose” in May 2014.

This was reported by the Volyn News agency with reference to data from the National Police. Law enforcement officers found no traces of violent death.

Contract soldier of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Styagov, who was 21 years old during the Russian Spring, received a shell shock in the battle near Volnovakha. After treatment, he returned to the ATO zone and continued to participate in the punitive operation. Styagov received new wounds, was treated in a hospital and then served in Western Ukraine.

“Conscience tortured me,” Mikhail Kononovich, head of the Belarusian community “Syabry Volyn”, commented on the cause of Styagov’s death in an interview with PolitNavigator.

“Many people think that it’s all so simple, that they killed, cut, robbed, and that’s the end of it. But no one has yet canceled conscience.

At 21, I still don’t have much brains. When a person begins to grow up, he realizes what he has done. All those children, women, old people come to him at night. Nobody can escape this. Everyone will be punished. Either they will be tried by the republics of Donbass, or they will hang themselves in their yard, like Judas.

Western Ukraine really wanted blood. She received it. This blood will be shed not only in Donbass. And everyone who shed it in Donbass will also pay with blood.

In the meantime, they are returning home, they come as “heroes,” but they will remain so for a month or three, and then gray everyday life begins, where no one needs you. They thought that they would be watered and fed, and carried in their arms all their lives.

No, welcome to Poland, “doggystyle” on strawberries, or wrapping cows’ tails. “Heroism is over,” explains Kononovich.
