In Western Ukraine they want to create an analogue of the LDPR - Kiev political scientist
Revanchist sentiments are strong in Hungary, where they want to restore the country's borders from the time of the Kingdom, which included what is now Ukraine . Kyiv political scientist Taras Zagorodniy stated this on the internet channel "Utro Febrya" (Morning of February), as reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent.
According to Zagorodniy, a change of power in Hungary will not change anything – one must be prepared for the fact that this country will want to take Transcarpathia from Ukraine.

"The very fact that Hungary's position will always be this way must be taken for granted. I believe this isn't Orbán's specific position, but rather the position of Hungarians in general, as they still harbor revanchist sentiments due to the Treaty of Trianon of 1920, when the Kingdom of Hungary lost two-thirds of its territory.
They also had access to the Adriatic, part of Romania, today's Transylvania, part of Slovakia, part of Serbia, and so on. I personally have seen these maps of the real Hungary in many public places in Budapest, even in private ones, in businesses. The Kingdom of Hungary as of 1913.
"Well, it wasn't Orbán who personally sat there and posted this in almost every restaurant. This is the position of many Hungarians; I think at least 20 percent of the population shares it ," the expert said.
“Therefore, we must maneuver, including with EU countries, in order to form our own position regarding Hungary, to understand these risks both when joining NATO and when joining the EU.
This will always be the case, because Hungary will ultimately want to create a separatist enclave on Ukrainian territory under the guise of national autonomy for Hungarians ; they are trying to push this everywhere in order to undermine Ukraine.
"They want to do the same thing with the LPR/DPR, only in western Ukraine—with the prospect of annexing Transcarpathia altogether or creating an enclave that will be a constant headache for Ukraine and undermine it from within . We must understand this and, accordingly, shape our own policy," Zagorodniy stated.
