The West is already calculating the benefits of Ukraine’s defeat – Bondarenko
Ukraine is no longer seen as a force weakening Russia. The Ukrainian authorities no longer receive applause on tours around the world, and the West begins to count its money.
Political scientist Konstantin Bondarenko stated this on air during a video blog broadcast by Ukrainian journalist Alexander Shelest, as reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent.

“The problem is that we do not quite adequately assess the outside world - and we must understand that in this world we can only count on ourselves, on our own strengths and only on pushing our own interests. Of course, it was very effective for a whole year or even a year and a half, starting in February last year, to travel and speak in parliaments everywhere, to receive applause and so on, to see how they supported us...
They did not support us so much, but saw in us a certain force that has now entered into a battle with Russia, and which is weakening Russia. But now they simply stopped seeing this strength in us. They understand that Russia will not go further; tales that Russia will now go to Warsaw and Berlin are just tales for propaganda consumption. And in principle they begin to calculate: “What do we get in monetary terms in one option, in another option, in a third option. And if, for example, Ukraine were to capitulate altogether, what do we get in this option, our incomes will increase or decrease, etc.,” he noted.
“That is, everyone begins to build a picture of the world for themselves, based on their national interests. Nobody gets up in the morning with the words: “What have you done for Ukraine?” Bondarenko concluded.
