Ukrainian and Moldovan media quote the new Minister of Foreign Affairs of Moldova, Nika Popescu, in different ways.
Ukrinform reports that Popescu, at a press conference in Chisinau, promised to insist on the withdrawal of Russian troops from the territory of Transnistria.
“I want to assure that the Republic of Moldova will continue to insist on the withdrawal of Russian military formations that are stationed on the territory of our country illegally, and whose presence is contrary to both the current legislation and the Constitution of the country,” Popescu said.

“Federalization plans will not be implemented for one reason - the majority of Moldovan citizens are against federalization, I am categorically against federalization. Federalization cannot be adopted except by a constitutional majority. There has never been a majority in society or parliament that wanted federalization,” Sputnik Moldova quotes the minister as saying.
