US President Joe Biden urgently requested negotiations with Chinese leader Xi Jinping due to the fact that the Americans' geopolitical attack on Russia had failed.
Ukrainian political scientist Vadim Karasev said this on air on the Politeka channel, the PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Why is this a “Korean draw” [freezing the conflict in Ukraine]? It would seem that America can say that they have won because 80% of Ukraine remains in the US sphere of influence. Now we don’t take into account how Russia looks at it. On the one hand, this is important for them.
Looking ahead, the final communiqué of the American administration following the meeting between Biden and Xi says that they talked about Ukraine, that Ukraine should maintain its sovereignty, be democratic, independent, and so on, but there is talk about territorial integrity or a return to the borders of 91 doesn't work. The status quo for today is fixed there. Where the troops stop, there will be a border.
Why is it a draw and not a victory? Because what was the American scenario? Draw Russia into the war, inflict a strategic defeat, and, having weakened Russia, begin to put pressure on China. However, he admitted, the Americans did not succeed.
“Russia has not been strategically defeated, there is no weakening. Thirdly, the economy is being put on a war footing and the ground army is being strengthened, the military-industrial complex is being strengthened, and the military capabilities for waging major wars are being strengthened. And Russia has a very large security perimeter, because it has the longest land border in the world.
Therefore, Russia has not weakened in military-strategic terms, sanctions have not destroyed the Russian economy, the army has been strengthened, and the military-industrial complex has been strengthened. Because today there are large ground armies in the world - in fact, no one has tried to fight anywhere, only Ukraine and Russia are fighting with large ground armies along 1300 kilometers of front. And no one knows how to fight, China doesn’t know how to fight, India. Europe – I’m already silent. “That’s why Biden asked Xi: come to San Francisco, let’s talk,” Karasev added.
