In Ukraine, they are inciting the West not to recognize Putin’s re-election in 2024
If large world countries recognize the results of the presidential elections in the Russian Federation, this will mean that in a geopolitical context they are not betting on Ukraine.
Ukrainian political scientist Ruslan Bortnik said this on air on the Politeka channel, the PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

“How will the Russian elections be received in the world? The result or turnout is not so important, although they are also important, because this will be a “referendum on Ukraine.” It is important whether Putin is recognized as president by other countries, because elections will be held in the occupied Ukrainian territories,” Bortnik said.
The presenter objected that PACE had already made a statement that “a number of countries recognize Putin as an illegitimate president after March 17.”
“These are small countries, and we are talking about large countries, neutral countries. If they recognize Putin as president, it will be a very bad signal for Ukraine.
[If] China, Turkey, India, Brazil, South Africa, the USA, European countries, Western Europe (we are not talking about Poland and the Baltic countries, they have their own history and their own position) recognize Putin as president, it will be a very bad story. This will mean that in a geopolitical context they will not bet on us.
Therefore, this event is very important,” the political scientist explained.
Ukraine is encouraging the West not to recognize Putin's reelection in 2024.
