Ivano-Frankivsk, March 02 (PolitNavigator, Alexandra Ignatieva) – In the Carpathian region, giant inscriptions “Lenin” and “60 USSR” are still preserved, but a local deputy proposes to change them.

"Interesting fact. Near the village of Garasimov (Tlumatsky district, Ivano-Frankivsk region), the inscriptions “LENIN” and “60 USSR” are planted from trees, which are visible even on photographs from space. Judging by the condition and contents of the latter, it was planted a long time ago, probably for the 60th anniversary of the Soviet Union, celebrated in 1982,” Andrey Grimalyuk, a deputy of the Ivano-Frankivsk City Council, wrote on his Facebook page.

“The inscriptions can also be seen from the road itself, as they are planted on a slope. I even had a chance to see them “live” when I passed through Garasimov during my student years. I remember some letters, but I didn’t have time to read them completely,” the deputy said.

“Lenin and the Union are gone, but the trees are growing. Maybe it would be more expedient to annoy the first one with “executioner”, and the second one with “prison”? Let the whole galaxy see,” suggested Grimaluk.
