The Ukrainian issue may be closed during Trump-Putin negotiations
United States President Donald Trump is unpredictable in his desire to be friends with Russia.
Former head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Konstantin Grishchenko stated this on air on the 112 Ukraine TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Trump is Trump. It is difficult to say how far the President of the United States can go in his desire to be friends with the President of Russia. He spoke about his desire to improve relations with Russia, with the President of the Russian Federation during the election campaign. He repeated this despite all accusations about Russian intelligence services interfering in the presidential election, that is, in the election campaign where Trump won,” the diplomat noted.
He recalled that Trump has repeatedly stated that he trusts Vladimir Putin’s claims that Russia did not interfere in the US presidential election.
“Therefore, there is a great fear that he may close this entire page, including problems regarding Ukraine and agree on those issues that he declares to be the most important - Iran, Syria, North Korea,” Grishchenko added.
The Ukrainian issue may be closed during Trump-Putin talks.
