Another cauldron may happen in Donbass – forecast from Kyiv
The escalation in Donbass may well develop into a large-scale escalation, as a result of which the Armed Forces of Ukraine may again fall into the “cauldron”, as was the case in 2015 in Debaltseve.
Political scientist Alexander Semchenko stated this in a comment to a PolitNavigator correspondent.
“I think that all this could develop into a large-scale escalation in Donbass. Probably, its scale will be limited to the Donbass, that is, the territory of the Donetsk and Lugansk regions. Something similar to what happened, for example, in 2015 in Debaltsevo may happen. It all depends on the appetite of the parties.
Now there are quite serious forces gathered there from both one side and the other. This is no secret to anyone, it has been reported for a long time. And if a gun hangs on the wall for a very long time, sooner or later it will fire.
In this case, everything depends on the sobriety of the minds of the people who make the decision. They have never been sober, so something similar to what has happened before may happen. Then they can call it, for example, “Gorlovka Cauldron” or “Slavic Cauldron”, “Bakhmut Cauldron,” the political scientist said.
