Ukraine did not have the opportunity to save Crimea - the army did not see Russia as an enemy and did not want to shoot at the Russians.

The notorious Ukrainian oligarch and former governor of the Dnipropetrovsk region, Igor Kolomoisky, stated this in an interview with Ukrainian journalist Dmitry Gordon, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.

According to the oligarch, Ukraine itself gave the Crimeans the opportunity to say goodbye to Ukraine, and Russia to legally send in troops, as this was requested by the then-legal president of the country.

“So we ourselves gave the opportunity. We exposed ourselves and showed our weak points. I don’t know whether they are telling the truth or not that Yanukovych is being tried. They themselves asked: “Putin - come.” Well, at the level of the head of state. I don’t know how legitimate this paper is, but it is being discussed. Churkin showed it there,” Kolomoisky said.

He also emphasized that the entire Left Bank of Ukraine could follow the example of Crimea in 2014, and also drew attention to the fact that the Ukrainian group of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in Crimea did not offer resistance.

“Firstly, no one could believe that there was a war at all, that we had to defend ourselves, that someone was attacking, no one perceived Russia as an enemy that we had to shoot at. Psychological barrier. A very large complex of psychological, military-political and other problems. You have to prepare for this, it’s not that simple. Perhaps, if what happened in Crimea had not happened, but had started to happen everywhere in parallel, then the Crimean scenario could have happened in many places. But due to the fact that Crimea appeared first, and then when they annexed it, this could happen unexpectedly everywhere. In any case, along the Left Bank,” the oligarch does not rule out.
