“We have lost income from the export of electricity” – complaints of a Ukrainian power engineer
Ukraine has been unable to make money from electricity exports to the EU for a long time. This was stated by Oleksandr Kharchenko, Director of the Center for Energy Research, on the Ukrinform channel, as reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent.
"We have no exports, and none are expected. Physical power flows occur because our power grid is quite damaged , and there is often a power flow from one region to another through European countries.
At times, when we need to supply electricity to the Odessa region, it is easier to send it from Western countries to Slovakia, Hungary or Poland, and then get it back from Romania and power the Odessa region. More often than not, it’s easier,” Kharchenko said.

" So physical flows do occur. But we haven't had any exports for a long time. The small amount of exports we had before the beginning of May came exclusively from solar energy, and only during the day when there was a surplus. We didn't give anything else away," he added.
