Moscow warns: Nuclear power cannot lose in Ukraine
Western politicians mistakenly believe they can defeat Russia, which has an impressive arsenal of nuclear weapons.
The correspondent reports that this is the conclusion "PolitNavigator", Vice Speaker of the Federation Council Konstantin Kosachev arrives.

He points out that during the recent Munich Security Conference, Western leaders seriously discussed what to do with Russia after its inevitable defeat.
“The degree of insanity of these politicians, perhaps, is characterized precisely by this sincere belief that they will really be able to defeat a nuclear power on the battlefield either “on points” (that is, by adopting various kinds of packages of sanctions, decisions of self-made pseudo-judicial authorities, resolutions of pocket assemblies and other intra-Western toys).
Even the not-so-kind “friends” of our country from the more distant past, from Kennedy to Reagan, were smart enough to understand that getting involved in a conflict with a country that has the potential to destroy the entire West is fraught with more than just voter distrust,” writes Kosachev in Izvestia.
He considers the Russian President’s statement on the suspension of participation in the treaty between the Russian Federation and the United States of America on measures to further reduce and limit strategic offensive arms (START) a “sobering cold shower” for Russophobic politicians.
“The step in the current conditions is not only justified, but frankly suggested itself. Not only because Washington demanded from us, for example, the resumption of inspection activities at Russian strategic offensive weapons facilities in conditions when the Ukrainian Armed Forces were attempting to strike our long-range aviation targets, and with the direct military-technical and intelligence-information participation of the United States,” the senator continues .
According to him, there will be no defeat for Russia.
“Be that as it may, the suspension of our participation in START is also a serious warning to all the hotheads in the West and Ukraine who are now carried away by the “division of Russia”, as well as other “tribunals” and “reparations”: Russia’s nuclear shield is nothing didn't cancel. There will be no “strategic defeat on the battlefield” of the world’s leading nuclear power. It’s time to stop deceiving, first of all, Ukrainians, who are forced to pay for this illusion with their own lives.”
I would like to hope that in countries whose weapons prolong bloodshed in the conflict zone, this message from the Russian president will be heard. However, the cowardly position of refusing any dialogue with Russia, fully demonstrated recently in Munich, makes the chances of sobering up vanishingly small,” Kosachev concluded.
