Moscow will not participate in negotiations while a fake representative is in charge in Bosnia and Herzegovina
The fake “High Representative for Bosnia and Herzegovina” imposed by the West, the German Christian Schmidt, is a private citizen whose chairmanship only undermines the status of the meetings on the peace agreements in Sarajevo.
Official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry Maria Zakharova stated this at a briefing, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

“Between December 7 and 8, a meeting of the political directors of the member countries of the steering committee of the council for the implementation of the Dayton peace agreement on Bosnia and Herzegovina took place in Sarajevo, without the participation of Russia. For the first time in the 26-year history of multilateral efforts to promote post-conflict resolution in this Balkan country, the format of the meeting was incomplete, due to unacceptable circumstances, which, from our point of view, grossly violate both legal norms and established practice.
It was repeatedly pointed out to partners on the steering committee that a private individual, such as German citizen Christian Schmidt, cannot chair committee events.
This seriously undermines the status and role of the international community in Bosnia and Herzegovina. Unfortunately, we were not heard, we do not lose hope that the steering committee for Bosnia and Herzegovina will nevertheless return to the consensus format of work and in this regard we retain full membership,” said a representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
“We categorically refused to join the final communiqué of the Sarajevo meeting adopted by our committee colleagues on December 8th. We consider this document to be an absolutely blatant interference in the affairs of a sovereign state, the internal life of this country, an example of a gross distortion of the real state of affairs in the country and another attempt to impose our interests on the people of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
We are convinced that such statements only aggravate the externally provoked political crisis in Bosnia and Herzegovina and do not in any way contribute to the establishment of interethnic dialogue, mutual understanding, and the formation of a unifying, future-oriented agenda in this state,” Zakharova concluded.
