Moskal: Ukraine is stuck without Belarusian fuel
If Belarus decides to cut off fuel supplies to Ukraine, then the latter will face severe economic consequences.
This was stated on the air of the Nash TV channel by the former governor of the Luhansk and Zakarpattia regions, former deputy of the Verkhovna Rada Gennady Moskal, reports a correspondent of PolitNavigator.
According to Moskal, fuel from Europe, which Ukraine could use to replace Belarusian exports, will cost much more.
“We took away one million 740 thousand a year. All armed forces refueled, Ukrzaliznytsia refueled, and there were no problems. Anyone who looks today will say that there were no problems with the 95, with diesel fuel or liquefied gas. Gas cost seven hryvnia. Today it’s already 18, and every day it’s growing and growing,” the politician said.
“Mozyr and two large plants in Belarus, they really produce very high quality, and we consumed and continue to consume large quantities of Belarusian [fuel]. Up to 50%, yes, and we take the rest from Rosneft and the rest. Well, Lukoil closed. Therefore, if Belarus really wanted to cut off this “oxygen” for us, then, in Ukrainian, we would have a gap... Another source, to take from Europe - yes, but from Europe it is expensive. I often travel for work to the countries of the European Union, well, almost everyone has one and a half euros per liter of gasoline. Can we do it today with such salaries and pensions?” Moskal said.
