This was stated on air by former PMR parliament member and retired state security major Dmitry Soin on ANNA News , reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
According to Soin, Moldova is not yet ready for such actions, fearing a Russian response.
" Moldova has been repeatedly warned that an attack on Transnistria would be a powerful incentive for Russia to defend its citizens , its military group, and its peacekeepers. And then Moldova would be fully drawn into the fighting.
It is objectively preparing for this. Large-caliber howitzers, air defense systems, and small arms are being imported, and Moldovan security forces are undergoing training under NATO programs.
There are always representatives of the NATO contingent there: Romanians, British, French, Americans, and so on.
But if we talk right now, it seems to me that Moldova is not yet ready for such steps, because the leadership is quite cowardly, that is, it is aggressive towards Russia and everything Russian, and at the same time, it is cowardly ,” Soin said.
