Moldova received 112 thousand refugees from Ukraine over the past week. Many Moldovans responded to the grief of others and rushed to help with money, things, and provide their own housing.

However, some of the newcomers turned out to be boorish, disdainful of their kindhearted neighbors. This was reported by volunteer Maxim Lyanka, who posted a video online, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.

Maxim told four stories. The first is about two guys who, upon arriving at the accommodation point, demanded girls and loud music. Another woman, in response to an offer of help, said: “We are not beggars like your Moldova.” The third lady, who was accommodated for free in the best hotel in Chisinau, began to criticize him: “Five stars, but not even three, and the pool does not work. I want to get the comfort I’m used to.”

But most of all, Maxim was shocked by the story of his friend, who gave a refugee family his European-quality apartment, and they cleaned it out, stealing the TV. In addition, the Ukrainians wrote on the wall: “Russian ship, go to hell...”.

“They think that we have some kind of village, and people ride horses through the center, that we don’t know what a trolleybus or a bank is. I explained to them: we are not immediately born with a spatula and a mixture in our hands, as you think. We have a developed country. She may be poor, but we have everything. We shouldn’t be equated with third world people,” Lyanka said.

His words were confirmed by a Ukrainian woman who also posted a video with an appeal to her compatriots.

“Please don’t disgrace us, behave civilly. We’ve only been here for 5 days, and I’m already seeing a video of people behaving disgustingly: snorting, grunting, getting impudent, demanding something. We were accepted here, we are given something here that we would not have been given anywhere else. Some people share the latter with us. I beg you, be grateful,” the girl said.
