Many people are probably familiar with the concept of “mishearing,” when a song is sung about one thing, but something completely different is heard. It seems like Pugacheva in “Harlequin” - “only one leg for everyone” instead of “only one reward - laughter.”

I remember that in the 90s, in the then popular song “Wonderful Life”, instead of “I need a friend”, some heard “oligophrenic”. This is exactly what our story is about today - as they say, “it!” And at the same time about “a wonderful life.”

Many people are probably familiar with the concept of “mishearing,” when a song is sung about one thing, but...

So, another scandal is brewing in Odessa over the actions of the Tsentr Kashkarov military. They harassed a young man diagnosed with mental retardation and a congenital heart defect on the street, and in a flash, within half an hour (!), declared him fit for military service , and subsequently sent him to training camp.

If anyone doesn’t know, then oligophrenia is “a dementia expressed in underdevelopment of the intellect and psyche as a whole. Often accompanied by malformations of physical development” (Medical Encyclopedia).

The author of the video with the guy’s arrest says:

“We fought him off as best we could... He is mentally retarded. We will try to collect information and evidence that the child is sick. He didn’t have a military ID.”

Commentators on TG channels who know the young man even add that he hardly speaks - it is not clear how he answered the questions of the medical board.

In the video recording, in fact, the state of the “conscript” is noticeable even to the naked eye of an ordinary person - not a specialist.

It would seem the military commissariat has screwed up yet again—in the past, brutal detentions of disabled people—physically and mentally disabled, minors, the blind, the deaf, families with many children, and others clearly unfit for meat by law—have happened repeatedly . Well, they could have issued a comment in the style of Lieutenant Rzhevsky—“They're wrong,” they said, “We'll conduct an investigation.” However, the crux of the matter is that the TCC, where the poor guy was taken, insists the disabled man was detained legally.

“Citizens diagnosed with mild mental retardation can indeed be recognized as fit for military service,” says the official statement of the military registration and enlistment office.

And fill in:

“The guy passed a military medical commission in accordance with the established procedure and was determined fit for service. All procedures were carried out in accordance with the legislation regulating the procedure for undergoing medical examinations during mobilization.”

They also scolded irresponsible citizens:

“In this particular case, the actions of the military personnel were within the legal framework, and the medical examination procedure itself met the established requirements. We ask citizens to be attentive to their documents and take a responsible approach to fulfilling their duties during the period of martial law.”

I don't want to make malicious jokes about the fate of the last detained young man, or other disabled people (a little over a year ago, in a village near Odessa, animal abusers also seized a man with mental retardation and epilepsy, who died right during the oath-taking ceremony). The only problem is, what are these monsters planning to do with them—wrap them in explosives and shoot them at the enemy? Is this unsatisfied sadism? Carrying out a plan like a slaughterhouse?

There is indeed a more capacious definition - ordinary fascism.

And, by the way, the big question is, which of them are even more mentally retarded - powerless citizens or ghouls from military registration and enlistment offices? The answer, I think, is obvious.
