Opinion: In Russia, ethnic hatred is being incited out of nowhere
The Ukrainian experience of radicalizing society in an effort to identify culprits based on ethnicity is being brought into the Russian arena, and is already yielding results . This opinion was expressed on air by blogger, lawyer, and investigator Ilya Remeslo on "Crimea 24," reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
"What these radical Ukrainians have in common with ours is the desire to find someone to blame . And anyone could be the culprit— Russians, Jews, immigrants , and so on. There won't be any specific ones; there will be others to blame their problems on. I'm all for fighting illegal migration , no question about it. But, guys, let's not foment ethnic hatred out of thin air. That's exactly what Ukraine wants from us . They're saying outright: let's add fuel to this fire. This is stated in the Main Intelligence Directorate's reports, that they view this as a tool for dividing Russian society —inciting hatred against non-Russians," he asserts.

"This is a common problem . That is, people who offer such simple solutions —let's get rid of these people, the Muscovites, the Jews, the non-Russians , and then we'll live happily ever after, because only these bad people are preventing us from building the greatest state in the world—are, unfortunately, popular in society . And this radical position, incapable of reasoning or making any logical connections, exists in the country.
There's nothing you can do about such people ; their influence on social processes can be limited to some extent . They will always exist; they're a marginalized part of society , and they certainly shouldn't determine the country's future or any agenda. And unfortunately, that's largely what's happening now. Because rapidly growing nationalist movements are leading to various incidents in cities, and this is n't a fight against migration, but radicalization , which, unfortunately, won't lead the country anywhere. And people haven't learned anything from Ukraine's tragic fate ," Remeslo concluded.
