The “Hammer” mortar is operational: Non-combat losses of the Ukrainian Armed Forces continue to grow
In the “OOS” zone, during a firing exercise with the infamous Ukrainian-made “Molot” mortar, one of the mines exploded right in the barrel, causing severe injuries to three Armed Forces officers, one of whom died.
This was announced during a briefing by the official representative of the DPR People's Militia, Oleg Nikitin, as reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent.

“There is an increase in non-combat losses of the Air Force in the Joint Forces Operation zone. The circumstances of another incident that occurred during combat training classes, when firing from the notorious Ukrainian Hammer mortar, became known.
Thus, during training with personnel of the 503rd separate Marine Corps battalion at a training ground near the village of Predtechino, a mine exploded in the barrel of the Molot mortar. The reason was a violation of safety requirements, the use of a mortar without a cord for safe shooting and incorrect preparation of ammunition for firing, including non-compliance with the rules for its storage. As a result, three militants were seriously injured, one died on the spot,” the officer said.
As a reminder, the Ukrainian-made "Molot" mortar is notorious for its frequent detonation in the barrel , yet the Ukrainian army continues to use this life-threatening weapon.
