The Russian Ministry of Defense partially opened the sea off the Crimean coast
The Russian Ministry of Defense has opened part of the Black Sea to civilian ships. In Sevastopol, a zone has been designated for fishing and pleasure boats from Cape Fiolent to Cape Ai-Ya. On the western tip of Crimea, boatmen take tourists to Cape Tarkhankut.
A notice to mariners indicating the coordinates of areas permitted for navigation has been published on the website of the Russian Ministry of Defense, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
Going to sea was previously prohibited, which affected the spring fishing season. More than 60 fisheries were unable to go to sea due to a ban on civilian shipping due to the start of a special military operation in Ukraine. The ban was partially lifted in June, but it concerned the zone of the southern coast of Crimea. Now the shipping zone has expanded to Cape Fiolent.
The Gulf of Kalamita remains prohibited. Neither fishermen nor entrepreneurs with water attractions are allowed to go to sea here. However, beyond Cape Tarkhankut, the restrictions have been softened for pleasure boats that carry tourists from Olenevka along the coast.
