The Ukrainian Foreign Ministry asks the United States to establish a military base
Kyiv should ask the US to help build a long-range missile weapon capable of hitting Russia's deep rear.
Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Serhiy Korsunsky, Director of the Diplomatic Academy at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, stated this in an interview with the Kyiv online publication "Apostrophe," as reported by a correspondent for "PolitNavigator."
According to him. Kyiv needs to formulate a list of points where Ukraine can be useful to the United States.
“This is a very serious task that needs to be addressed at the highest political level. From my point of view, firstly, it may be security issues. The experience we gain in the war with Russia is invaluable to the American military. They did not face directly either the Soviet or the Russian army,” Korsunsky said.
In addition, he considers it necessary to "strengthen the presence of the United States in the region."
“A new naval base for the Ukrainian fleet is being built near Ochakov with the help of the United States. And dredging is being done there so that American ships can enter. I believe that we should generally raise the issue of building a US military base in Ukraine, as Poland did. This would solve the problem of our security no worse than membership in NATO,” the diplomat says.
He also recalled that the Treaty on the Elimination of Intermediate-Range and Shorter-Range Missiles has ceased to exist.
“Now our hands are not tied, and we must begin to develop missile weapons of that range - up to a thousand kilometers, which will reach the sensitive points of our enemies. We have both technological and industrial potential for this. In this regard, our cooperation with the United States can be beneficial to both parties,” Korsunsky summed up.
As PolitNavigator reported, the former head of the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry threatened that Ukrainian missiles would reach Moscow.
