According to the press service of the Kirovograd City Council, Alexander Sainsus did not agree with the desire of the City Council deputies to appoint his deputies

Sainsus cited the reason for his resignation as changes to the city council's regulations that violate the law.

“This project was contrary to the law, since it provided the right to choose deputies without the consent of the city mayor. We submitted a request to the National Agency for Civil Service Affairs, and it provided a response in which it was recognized that the subject of the nomination of candidates for the position of deputy mayor to the city council is the mayor. That’s why I vetoed the previous decision made on April 24,” the city mayor noted.

“The second problem that arose was that the deputies removed the deputy mayors from their positions. This is their right, but is it for the benefit of the community? There is no first deputy mayor - he wrote a statement, there is no deputy for housing and communal services issues, there is no deputy for finance issues either... Is it possible to govern the city in these conditions? Or should the mayor alone be responsible? Reboot – so reboot, no questions asked. However, let the deputies immediately propose other, better candidates and approve them,” the mayor’s press service quotes.

Deputies must consider the application for the resignation of the city mayor at the session of the Kirovograd City Council on May 29.

Let us remember that Sainsus, who was elected mayor as a candidate from the Party of Regions, already resigned on February 23, but his request was not granted.
