Matvienko demands to deal with Sberbank’s bullying of Crimeans
Speaker of the Council of the Federation of the Russian Federation Valentina Matvienko ordered to speed up the resolution of the issue of returning the deposits of Crimeans in Sberbank
"The issue of Crimeans' savings at Sberbank remains unresolved. We need to resolve this matter with the Central Bank. People need to get their deposits back. I understand there was a difficult transition period. I'm giving you a month to work out the measures. The issue remains somewhat tense," Matviyenko said at today's meeting, according to a PolitNavigator correspondent.
Earlier, Senator from Sevastopol Olga Timofeeva stated that Sberbank of the Russian Federation refuses to return money to Crimeans who were depositors of its Ukrainian branch. The financial structure forces Russian citizens to go to Ukraine.
