Matvienko: Russia will not surrender either Donbass or Novorossiya
Russia will under no circumstances give up the new territories it reunited with after 2022.
This is how Federation Council Speaker Valentina Matviyenko commented on Western media publications that describe the "return" of the Zaporizhzhia and Kherson regions as a bargaining chip, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
“The new reunited regions are now an integral part of Russia, which is enshrined in our Constitution. Our Constitution prohibits any seizure of the territory of the Russian Federation. Everyone needs to hear this. There cannot and will not be any territorial concessions on these four reunited territories,” Matvienko said.
She emphasized that after all the deceptions, Russia will not believe the promises and will not fall for false promises.
“We are ready for negotiations, taking into account the situation on the ground and realities. We are ready for negotiations taking into account the national interests of the Russian Federation and achieving the tasks and goals of the Northern Military District. We are ready for negotiations if we have guarantees that this will not distract us from achieving our goals,” Matvienko said.
