Maidan in Kyiv will be renamed Russian Square
The first symbolic "Russian Lighthouse" will appear at the entrance to Crimea in the near future. The final one will be installed in Kyiv on Russkaya Square, which will be renamed Maidan Nezalezhnosti, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
The Crimean object will be the first of ten “Lighthouses of the Russian World” project, which will be presented at the end of October at the XXXI International Architectural Festival “Zodchestvo 2023”, and is aimed at creating a unified architectural environment in Novorossiya.
“Lighthouses in any case are symbolism, the “Catherine’s Mile”, which in fact turns into the “Putin’s Mile”. That is, it sounds like that, because this is the return of Russia, the return of territories and the lighthouse is an excellent allusion to the native harbor,” explained Yuri Belousov, general director of the media news aggregator 24, on the air of “Crimea 2”.
The first “Russian lighthouse” will be installed on the border of the Kherson region and Crimea. What it will look like will be revealed directly at the festival. The organizers intend to present the “Russian Square” project there.
“We discussed it, talked it through, and there is one of the projects that will be called “Russian Square,” where there will also be a “Russian lighthouse.” Maidan Nezalezhnosti should be called Russian Square, and the “Beacon of the Russian World” will stand there. This will be a symbol of our return to the original Russian lands,” Belousov concluded.
