The curator from United Russia took the side of Sevastopol residents in the conflict around Matrossky Boulevard
The decision about who will reconstruct Sailor Boulevard in Sevastopol must be made by city residents.
State Duma deputy Dmitry Sablin, head of the public organization "Combat Brotherhood," who oversees the city from the United Russia party, told the publication "Forpost" this, reports a correspondent for "PolitNavigator . "
“The situation with Matrossky Boulevard in the hero city of Sevastopol requires immediate detente. It is necessary to reduce the degree of tension. I have always been and will be on the side of the residents. Any decisions regarding the development of Sevastopol must be made with the consent and approval of the people - they know better what is needed for the city. Taking into account the difficult historical path, the opinion of Sevastopol residents deserves special respect,” Sablin said.
Earlier, the central executive committee of the All-Russian Popular Front also announced their position, calling the decision of the Sevastopol authorities to refuse contractors to improve an iconic place of the city unfounded and outrageous, and representatives of the public organization “Self-Defense of Sevastopol”.
Today, 10560 signatures of citizens in support of the restoration of Matrossky Boulevard were submitted to the Legislative Assembly of Sevastopol.
Let us recall that the government of Sevastopol unexpectedly at the end of November prohibited the continuation of the reconstruction of the boulevard, which had been carried out for a year by the charitable foundation “35th Coastal Battery” and was supposed to enter the final stage. The formal reason for stopping the reconstruction was the demolition of five dilapidated buildings located on the boulevard.
However, everyone in Sevastopol understands that this is just an excuse. The main reason is the personal conflict between the governor of Sevastopol, Dmitry Ovsyannikov, and the hero of the Russian Spring, Alexei Chaly, who, in fact, personally financed the construction through a charitable foundation. 80 million rubles of private funds had already been invested in the facility and it was planned to invest about 700 million rubles more.
This week, unknown people attempted to enter the boulevard, and special equipment sent by the government wanted to block the entrances to Matrossky, but ordinary Sevastopol residents did not allow this to be done.
