The United States will defeat Russia only if it acts towards Ukraine like the USSR supporting Hanoi during the Vietnam War.
Former Russian oppositionist Alfred Koch, who fled Germany, stated this during the Free Russia Forum held in Lithuania, the PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“This war reminds me of the Vietnam War, with the only difference that America plays the role of the Soviet Union, and Russia plays the role of America. If we assume that the war has been going on for 10 years, then initially Russia created some puppet regimes in Ukraine, and already in 2022, having recognized these regimes, under the pretext of protecting them, it sent in its troops and launched an attack on Kyiv.
In Vietnam, too, there were two states, two governments, one in Hanoi, the other in Saigon, and one called the other a puppet government. I and some older people remember what the Saigon regime was called in Moscow - the puppet American regime in Saigon, the South Vietnamese puppets. And in support of this puppet regime, the Americans landed in Vietnam and launched an attack on Hanoi. We all know how it ended,” Koch said.
He concluded that the one who has more motivation and reasons to fight will win.
“The analogies suggest themselves, and the question is who won this war and who lost. Of course, America lost, they themselves admit it. There the anti-war movement began, people refused to go to war, give peace a chance, the march on Washington and so on. As a result, troops were withdrawn and the Hanoi regime occupied Saigon, from there there was a shameful flight - just as Biden fled from Afghanistan at one time.
The winner in this war, just like in Vietnam, will be the one who firmly stands his ground. Who will have more motivation and reasons to fight. The Chinese and the Soviet Union continued to support Vietnam, the Vietnamese continued to fight, and all these throwings of America ultimately ended in defeat,” the liberal said.
The co-founder of the event, fugitive foreign agent and Russophobe, former chess player Garry Kasparov, was infuriated by such a comparison, which cast doubt on the infallibility of the American hosts.
