Kuleba admitted that Israel humiliated Zelensky
In Ukraine, they continue to give conflicting explanations for the reasons for the Israeli leadership’s refusal to meet with President Vladimir Zelensky.
This was initially reported by the Israeli portal Ynet, according to which Zelensky planned to visit Israel simultaneously with US Secretary of State Antony Blinken on October 16. In Israel, Zelensky was told that his visit would be untimely.
In Ukraine they immediately rushed to refute this information. Thus, the Ambassador of Ukraine to Israel Yevgeny Korneychuk claims that no one refused Zelensky.
“The President’s visit to Israel may take place in the future, but at present the embassy has not received any request regarding the organization of the guarantor’s trip. Consequently, there was no refusal to visit,” Korneychuk said.
However, Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmitry Kuleba actually refuted the Ukrainian ambassador.
“We don't feel rejected. We discussed the visit with them immediately after the Hamas attack, and they told us that we would have to wait. At that time, Tel Aviv did not expect a single foreign leader. Now the phase has changed,” Kuleba told Italian newspaper La Repubblica.
It is noteworthy that, in addition to Blinken, US President Joe Biden and German Chancellor Olaf Scholz visited Israel. British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak arrived in the Jewish state today. So Kuleba’s statements that Israel did not expect a single foreign leader are clearly far-fetched.
