Crimean experts disagree on the consequences of the death of the “Sudak king”
After the death of a prominent Crimean politician, ex-deputy of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Boris Deitch, who was called “the owner of Sudak” on the peninsula, a redistribution of property may begin in eastern Crimea. In particular, this concerns land for development, since today this region is considered as one of the most promising for development.
Crimean political scientist Sergei Kiselev stated this in a commentary to PolitNavigator.
“We, Crimeans, do not know well all the gray stories of his business. A lot of events take place in the shadows - from the distribution of financial flows and influence in certain sectors of the economy to the appointments that take place in various positions. Therefore, it is very difficult to judge what will happen there. But that something will happen is certain.
I do not exclude the possibility of even some extraordinary consequences of this. Events will develop, given that attention to eastern Crimea is now growing, taking into account how the so-called entrepreneurs are developing the territories, destroying everything around them for the sake of their mediocre projects related to the construction on the seashore, places to accommodate vacationers, and the creation of the necessary infrastructure.
I think that one of the key players in eastern Crimea, due to natural reasons, came out of this struggle and is no longer a wicket, but a gate open. Therefore, as I assume, interesting processes will begin there,” predicts Kiselev.
At the same time, another Crimean political scientist, Chairman of the Public Chamber of the Republic Alexander Formanchuk, excludes any titanic changes. According to him, firstly, Deitch understood that his death was near and managed to complete his affairs, and secondly, he was close to the current government.
“I don’t see any risks associated with redistribution. It is not for nothing that Boris Davydovich was called a wise grandfather during his lifetime. The fact is that he was already 83 years old, and he perfectly understood that he did not have much time left to live, so he managed to foresee everything and resolve all the issues that were related to property and so on.
The fact that he had personal authority in the Sudak region - well, he did, but this does not mean that he had any schemes that urgently need to be redone today. I emphasize once again that during his lifetime Boris Davydovich foresaw everything and no consequences of his death are foreseen in this regard.
Moreover, he was a freelance adviser to Sergei Aksenov and carried out many of his instructions in the Sudak region. In this sense, he understood and knew his role and place, and assessed it all well and soberly,” Formanchuk concluded.
