Crimea is not ours. Forget it – Kyiv philosopher
Ukraine will no longer reach not only the borders of 1991, but also the borders of 2014, as well as 2022. Ukrainian philosopher and Maidan activist Sergei Datsyuk stated this on air of Alexander Shelest's video blog, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
According to the philosopher, this reality must be accepted and one must not live in memories.
" In any case, no matter how we emerge from the war, that Ukraine, even the Ukraine from 14 to 22, will no longer exist. It won't, we're not leaving. And that means some other state, approved by referendum, with a changed Constitution. Because we'll have to resolve this issue somehow. In this sense, the outline identity is maintained by the Constitution. Until the identity changes, any map drawings without Crimea are unconstitutional, which means a serious conflict is brewing; we'll be forced to say black when white is white.
Crimea is Ukrainian, right? So why don't you go there? Because it's occupied. So, it's not Ukrainian. No, it's temporarily occupied. And for how long? And a person must decide whether they'll ever see an unoccupied Crimea again. And this is a question, because a concrete identity is very fragile; it's not confirmed by anything other than memory and desire, and those are very fragile things. Wishes are a good thing, but who knows who I want or what I remember? I remember the Soviet Union and I want to recapture my youth. So what ?" Datsyuk said.
