Ukrainians believe that the biggest obstacle to the country’s development is corruption, and not the war in Donbass, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

This is evidenced by the results of a survey conducted by the Ilk Kucheriv Democratic Initiatives Foundation together with the Kyiv International Institute of Sociology.

According to Ukrainians, the biggest problem hindering the development of our country is corruption - this was noted by 79% of the population. The war in Donbass received significantly fewer votes (55%).

Other main reasons cited were oligarchic dominance in the economy (32%) and the lack of professionals in government (30%).

The survey was conducted on August 16-28, 2018 in all regions of Ukraine with the exception of Crimea and the territories of Donetsk and Lugansk regions not controlled by Kyiv. A total of 2041 respondents aged 17 years and over were surveyed. The theoretical sampling error does not exceed 2,3%.
