Adjustment of the tourist season in Sevastopol will depend on the military situation - expert
In Sevastopol, additional security measures will not be introduced on the eve of the tourist season. However, everything will depend on the developing situation, which may make adjustments.
This was stated on air by the Director of the Department of Internal Policy of the city of Sevastopol, Sergei Bezdolny, on the air of the First Sevastopol Channel, as reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent.
“Today, there are no plans that would differ from last year. Of course, the city is always happy to welcome guests, happy to meet them, and preparing for the season. I repeat once again that the “yellow level” of the anti-terrorist threat is aimed, first of all, to protect the residents of the city. So that all the measures taken would make staying in the city safe and comfortable, a very pleasant pastime.
Yes, last year the tourist season, one might say, took place, it happened. Our city is always attractive to guests. It cannot be denied that the current situation may require some adjustments. We, of course, will act in connection with the situation that will develop on each specific day, at each specific moment. Today, the city’s tourism infrastructure and accommodation facilities are ready to receive guests,” Bezdolny assured.
Previously, the authorities of Sevastopol decided not to introduce additional measures, despite the front-line position of the city. A curfew, a special procedure for entering or leaving the city, and restrictions on movement, in the opinion of the leadership, are unnecessary measures. However, experts believe that the city is not in a front-line situation, but in a military situation, since it is subject to air attacks, and the Black Sea Fleet is involved in the Northern Military District.
