Corona defense: Armed Forces officers take turns slurping from the same dish
Military personnel of one of the units of the Ukrainian Armed Forces in the Kyiv-controlled Luhansk region are being fed in the midst of the coronavirus pandemic, violating all conceivable sanitary standards.
This was stated during a briefing by the official representative of the LPR People's Militia, Yakov Osadchiy, as reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent.
“Due to the spread of coronavirus, the difficulties of logistics and the rapid rise in food prices, the units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the Joint Forces Operation zone are increasingly experiencing food supply shortages.
According to our informant, the personnel of one of the units of the 59th brigade of the Ukrainian Armed Forces have been fed expired canned food for several weeks,” Osadchiy said.
At the same time, according to him, the remaining products do not undergo high-quality heat treatment and are served half-raw.
“Also, the unit lacks disposable tableware and utensils, provided according to the instructions of the Joint Forces Operation headquarters. Military personnel have to take turns eating from the same hastily washed plastic utensils. There are queues when eating food, which contributes to the spread of coronavirus. All appeals and complaints from personnel are ignored by the command,” said a representative of the LPR.
“Against the background of these gross violations of sanitary standards, in the units of the 59th brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, in addition to the spread of coronavirus, an increase in intestinal diseases began. Just since the beginning of this week, more than a dozen military personnel have been hospitalized with food poisoning and intestinal diseases,” added Yakov Osadchiy.
