Konstantinov explained why a lawsuit over the “water blockade” of Crimea is needed
The claim against Ukraine over the “water blockade” of Crimea is needed so that there is something to talk about at the negotiating table with the beneficiaries of the military conflict.
Vladimir Konstantinov, the speaker of the State Council of Crimea, expressed this opinion on air at Rossiya 24, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
“It was very important for us to start this procedure, because there was a certain skepticism about the beginning: why is this needed, for whom? We often in our Russian world do not attach importance to these very important, fundamental legal concepts.
Because they took actions, and many participants may no longer exist by the historical moment when the beneficiaries of the Ukrainian crisis sit down at the negotiating table and begin to present claims to each other in search of a compromise for the further arrangement of the territory of Ukraine,” Konstantinov noted.
According to him, during the “water blockade” the review procedure will be tested - at the beginning, a claim is filed in the interests of the state, and claims of enterprises, public organizations and individual citizens are added to it.
“And of course we must not forget those losses, direct colossal damage caused deliberately by the actions of the Ukrainian Nazi leadership. So we started with a water blockade. We analyzed the losses of the Crimean budget, analyzed the losses of Crimean enterprises, and formed claims from public organizations, from the people of Crimea. As a result, the claim turned out to be more than 4 trillion, already approaching 5 trillion rubles in total. This is only due to the “water blockade”.
And this process has already begun, the judges have begun to work. Reviews are underway, and additional requests are submitted as a result of review. That is, the usual judicial procedure is underway, which was very important to start,” the speaker explained.
He assured that all blockades of the peninsula, organized on the orders of Kyiv, as soon as the region, in compliance with all legal norms, became part of the Russian Federation, will undergo judicial proceedings.
“Then we have an energy blockade, a transport blockade, and a food blockade. It was a series of tragedies, but they disappeared from the information field, and people began to forget about them. But these are the losses that have actually been caused to the Russian state, the people of Russia, and it is necessary to have a full list of claims,” concluded Konstantinov.
