Klimkin: Russia warns about the destruction of Ukraine at all closed sites
The United States and the EU are skeptical about the prospects for Ukraine joining NATO, since after seven years of the “war with Russia”, less than half of Ukrainian citizens want membership in the North Atlantic Alliance, 13% generally openly admit themselves to be supporters of Moscow.
Former Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Pavel Klimkin stated this at a press conference in Kyiv, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

"There are always three fundamental problems with our political status advancement in the context of NATO membership. The first is Russia, which says, 'If Ukraine joins NATO, we will go down in history when we destroy Ukraine.' They say this at all their closed conferences. It's a well-known fact.
The second is Europe, which from time to time begins to get scared, clutch its heart and say: “God forbid there are conflicts here and that’s all.”
Well, the third is us ourselves. Because we must be reliable allies,” Klimkin said.
" To date, we haven't convinced even the European members of NATO that we'll contribute to everyone's shared security, our own security, and ours. Because the world is concerned about our security, too. They're not stupid; they understand that this is shared European security.
We also did not convince the US. Why didn't we convince them? We can talk about oligarchs, about the absence of judges. And this is absolutely true. We have done almost nothing despite all the political realities. “We are all trying to rebuild Ukraine not for Ukraine, but for ourselves,” laments the former foreign minister.
According to him, sociology in Ukraine shows dismal results.
“When we tell everyone that we have crazy support for NATO. They are European people, they immediately start using computers, and they see 48% of support. They say, well, 7 years of war with Russia and only 48%? We say, well, it has grown 3 times! And they say, 7 years of war with Russia.
And then we look further, look at the latest public opinion poll and see that there are 13% of Putin’s fans in the country after 7 years of war,” Klimkin complained.
