Film director Shakhnazarov told what the West is afraid of
It is no coincidence that the West reacted so nervously to Russia’s decision to withdraw its military observers from Donbass.

Director Karen Shakhnazarov stated this on the Rossiya-1 TV channel.
“I think in Europe there was a fear that there might be a counter-reaction from Russian troops to some kind of escalation. In the event of such a movement, it will take us no more than a week to reach the western borders of Ukraine. In this case, the West will face the nightmare it fears most—the restoration of the Soviet Union. Then the West will have to talk from completely different positions. Then Crimea can be recognized, the southeast can be made independent, and sanctions can be lifted,” Shakhnazarov said.
He believes that the withdrawal of observers had a noticeable impact on the situation in Donbass.
“This subtle move definitely worked for the situation. The fact that Poroshenko agreed to an exchange is also the result of this move. Afraid of the attack. I’m not saying that our leadership wants to do this, but the Western leadership has this possibility in mind and can assume that it will happen. All this says that in the gigantic game that is unfolding on the territory of Ukraine, not all the moves have been used yet. Therefore, it seems to me that there will be no aggravation now,” the director concluded.
