Kiev futurologist: Ukrainians deserved war, not victory
Ukrainian society has lost faith in the possibility of defeating Russia on the battlefield.
Ukrainian futurologist Alexey Tolkachev stated this at a roundtable in Kyiv, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
“I don’t know what to do with a society that... I wrote that Ukrainians deserved the war, but they haven’t won yet. And it seems to me that many Ukrainians no longer need victory. Many Ukrainians lost faith in the possibility of victory and began to understand that they needed to survive here and now in these conditions. Accordingly: war – okay, we need to earn money in war conditions for a new apartment,” Tolkachev describes Ukrainian logic.
According to him, Ukraine is beginning to hide cases of corruption from Western partners, which only makes things worse.
“The scouts, whom we supported for almost a year, say: “We go out in detail, there are four of us in the car, but according to the documents there are seven. And three more will receive combat payouts.” What's going on? If there is no desire for victory as the goal to which we all strive, everyone will have their own strategy: scribble 100 hryvnias, 100 rubles and run away,” Tolkachev laments.
He added that the strategy is becoming "quite widespread."
