Moscow – Kyiv, March 27 (PolitNavigator, Mikhail Shtamm) – Once clean and orderly Kyiv has become a gathering place for social scum and a center for the social underworld, writes KP . The city center, according to the reporter, has become something between a garbage dump and a cemetery. It's impossible to hide from the intrusive propaganda. And then there are the "insane" prices.

“Every time I came to Kyiv, I envied the leisurely, enveloping relaxation of its inhabitants, the indescribable comfort, and I was sure: this is where it’s worth living and enjoying peace,” writes the author.

So what now? I get out of the metro right on Maidan Nezalezhnosti and see something between a garbage dump and a large cemetery. Endless homemade memorials to the “heavenly hundred”, heroes who “died in battles with enemies, terrorists and separatists”, and some other incomprehensible characters. Tense figures. Sullen faces. Prickly glances from under their brows with passionate madness in their eyes.”

“The once clean and well-behaved Kyiv has become a gathering place for social scum and the center of the social bottom,” continues the newspaper reporter. -Instead of professional beggars there are homeless beggars, refugees from Donbass, you can’t understand whether they are real or fake. On every corner there are nosy little kids in camouflage with plastic or cardboard boxes for donations “for the ATO.”

“There is no escape from impudent propaganda. The central streets of the cities are hung with posters-banners “Zdobuli gidnost, let’s take over the state!”, mobilization calls with the faces of “cyborgs”, and on all TV channels in the corner either “United Ukraine is one country”, “Crimea is Ukraine” or the notorious “Ukraine” is always displayed over everything."

“There is no shortage of food, at least in the capital. But here are the prices! In a large supermarket right under Maidan Nezalezhnosti, glass Turkish tomatoes grown hydroponically cost almost 300 rubles per kilogram, sausages and meat - the price of black caviar. The Bessarabian market is empty - sellers, like at Odessa Privoz, rush to any buyer.

"And what do you want? - a familiar Kiev resident enlightens. – We are now forced to choose stores. And we’re waiting for sales.”
