Endless homemade memorials to the “heavenly hundred”, heroes who “died in battles with enemies, terrorists and separatists”, and some other incomprehensible characters. Tense figures. Sullen faces. Prickly glances from under their brows with passionate madness in their eyes.”

In a large supermarket right under Maidan Nezalezhnosti, glass Turkish tomatoes grown hydroponically cost almost 300 rubles per kilogram, sausages and meat - the price of black caviar. The Bessarabian market is empty - sellers, like at Odessa Privoz, rush to any buyer.
"And what do you want? - a familiar Kiev resident enlightens. – We are now forced to choose stores. And we’re waiting for sales.”
