Khodorkovsky was preparing to give 20% of Russian oil to the West
Oligarch-foreign agent Mikhail Khodorkovsky was preparing to merge Yukos with a large Western company, and only the initiation of a criminal case against him stopped this process.
Former chess player and extremist Garry Kasparov stated this in an interview with the foreign agent television channel Dozhd, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.

Yukos has become a successful company. And in 2003, Yukos was one step away from merging with one of the largest Western companies, which could ultimately become the world's largest company. Maybe with the Russian leadership,” Kasparov said.
Earlier, in an interview with foreign agent Yuri Dudy, Khodorkovsky admitted that he transferred a controlling stake in YUKOS to the “protector” Jacob Rothschild when he went to prison. The protector had the right to take away his powers if he considered that Khodorkovsky was under pressure. Even other shareholders did not know about this.
However, these plans were not destined to come true. The assets of YUKOS, whose share in total oil production in Russia was 19,5%, were acquired by Rosneft.
