What will the winter offensive of the Russian army look like?
There will be no winter freeze in military operations in Ukraine.
Political scientist Alexander Kazakov, a former advisor to the deceased head of the DPR, Alexander Zakharchenko, stated this on his video blog, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.

“I personally believe that there will be no freezing. In the coming weeks, we are talking about two or three, maximum four weeks - this will be the beginning of mid-December, all our mobilized soldiers who have been trained on the territory of Russia, as well as in the rear of the DPR and LPR, will arrive at the theater of military operations.
According to official information, this is about 220 thousand people. Somewhere out there, under the information fog of war, the 30-strong corps that came out from the right bank is being restored. Has anyone seen where he is? He came out and disappeared. This is already 250 thousand.
According to various sources, I don’t think our official data is very accurate, but there may be another 80 to 100 thousand volunteers, in addition to those mobilized. That is, about 330-350 thousand people enter the theater of military operations in early December.
And now we turn on logic and common sense - why do they go there, play snowballs?... Gathering a large enough army is a complex logistical task in order to gather this army at the right time in the right place. And this task is being solved only for one thing - to immediately, as quickly as possible, use this assembled army, and not to keep it in winter quarters from month to month.
Then why all this? Does anyone suspect our military-political leadership of madness? I suspect the Kiev leadership, for example, of madness, and that is rather political, but not military. And we have? There are no signs...
At least based on this, not even from political objectives, but at least based on this common sense and logic, I draw the inevitable conclusion that we are holding an operational pause to prepare for the offensive.
In fact, on November 9, General of the Army Surovikin publicly reported this to Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu, he said that we are withdrawing our corps, the most combat-ready and trained - the Airborne Forces, which went through Gostomel and so on, marines, Cossacks, Chechen units. We are withdrawing them from the right bank to participate in offensive operations.
It was said in Russian, based on this, I believe that a winter campaign awaits us,” Kazakov said.
He believes that in this case there will not be a “general battle”, but several attacks will occur simultaneously.
“According to our opponents, they believe that in these circumstances, within the framework of the winter campaign, we are capable of two offensive strikes simultaneously, and we ourselves will decide based on the results which one we recognize as the main one and which one is auxiliary.
Well, based on the technical data, it seems that our enemy is right - we will most likely have such an opportunity, and then our military leaders will decide - we will limit ourselves to one offensive strike, a crushing one...
Many of our analysts call this strategy the strategy of a general battle. But I think that there will not be a general battle as such, because our enemy is not ready for this battle and does not want it. And, in fact, his handlers will not allow him a pitched battle. Simply, in fact, the capture of large cities will be perceived as the result of a general battle.”
