What troops to Ukraine? We don't even have enough trucks! - former British Defense Minister

Britain has become significantly weakened militarily and is unable to provide effective assistance to the "Coalition of the Willing ," which declares its readiness to send "peacekeepers" to Ukraine.

Former British Defense Minister Ben Wallace stated this on air at The Telegraph, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.

" Britain is currently lagging behind in both spending and NATO leadership . I think we're currently in 9th place.

When I was there, we were the second largest spender in NATO, after Germany and Poland. Poland is already catching up with us in GDP and I think it will soon overtake us.

We are beginning to lose our leadership both within NATO and in the international community as a whole, in terms of our role in Ukraine and in the world in general.

All this talk about a "coalition of the willing," about how we could all send troops to Ukraine—but what troops, really? I mean, we don't have the manpower.

"We have a battle group in Estonia. We had huge gaps in our army's capabilities. I remember being scolded for not being able to send our division; we were catastrophically short of trucks and everything else we needed," Wallace explained.
