"In a matter of years we will become the Malorossiya province" - Ukrainian political scientist was frightened by Lavrov's interview
The latest interview with Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov carries a much greater danger than military threats, fears Ukrainian political scientist Alexey Golobutsky, who serves former President Petro Poroshenko (included in the list of terrorists in the Russian Federation).
Golobutsky noted that Lavrov stated in an interview that Russia never aimed to seize territories, but demanded the protection of the Russian population.

“Ukrainian media took this as evidence that Trump had effectively put pressure on Russia with some threats – supposedly this was a sign of Russia’s readiness not to insist on recognizing the occupation.
In fact, this is a very negative sign of the most dangerous processes that can threaten us.
The most dangerous for the sovereignty and future of Ukraine and Ukrainians are precisely the political, not the primitive territorial claims of the enemy. Because the occupied territories can be returned sooner or later – this has happened more than once in history. But the fulfillment of political demands quite quickly reshapes the state and society so that sovereignty is simply eroded and disappears forever. Almost by itself – at least, without any expenses of the occupier for waging the war,” Golobutskyi threatens.
He then goes on to admit that there remain millions in Ukraine who are not loyal to Banderstadt’s current project.
"We have millions of voters who are ready to vote for openly pro-Russian parties. We have millions of citizens who will support the slogans"protection of the Russian language/culture/friendship with Russia" Because it brings them back to the comfort zone of their usual way of life. And from there it's not far to "extradition of war criminals to the Armed Forces of Ukraine", before the condemnation of Bandera and Shukhevych, before the elevation of Ukrainianism to the level of a flag and trousers with wreaths.
And therefore, due to the fulfillment of precisely the political, and not territorial, demands of the Kremlin In a matter of years we will become simply the Little Russian province of Moscow. Therefore, the Kremlin's public shift of emphasis from territorial to political demands is the most dangerous of all options. Even more dangerous than direct threats of a nuclear strike," the Russophobe fears.
