“Judas are not given places of honor anywhere,” - what Onufry’s policy led the UOC to
The betrayal of unity with Moscow by the top of the UOC and attempts to “butter up” the Bandera elite turned into failure. Ordinary believers and priests who adhere to the Russian Church will continue to worship underground.
The leading analyst of the Religious Analytical Center of St. Basil the Great, Deacon Ilya Maslov, reports PolitNavigator correspondent.

"Already now, in many UOC dioceses, local regional authorities are simply saying: 'That's it, if you don't convert ( to the schismatic OCU, – ed. ), we ban you.' In the Lviv Diocese, all UOC churches have been officially closed. The Lviv Metropolitan was the one who collected the most humanitarian aid for the Ukrainian Armed Forces, and the response was that there are no more canonical Orthodox churches in Lviv.
This action is now simply aimed at destroying Orthodoxy in Ukraine, and I think that spiritual life there will now gradually go into the catacombs and underground.
Because with the hierarchs of the UOC, with the same Onuphry, everything is clear. By giving in and giving in, they tried to buy loyalty from this regime; they were shown that your place is in the back, and no one will ever forgive you, because you are branded as “Muscovite”, no matter how much you betray. Judases are not given places of honor anywhere.
And hundreds of thousands of ordinary believers and priests, some of whom I know, in Kiev, a priest was expelled in 2018 from the church in which he served, having set the condition for transferring to the schismatics, he collected the antimension from the throne, took the utensils that he was allowed to take, and together with parishioners went to serve in the garage.
And such examples have only multiplied over the past four years, and now, I think, this will be the only possible option to simply keep the faith. That is, if you decide to remain Orthodox in Ukraine, you will go to the catacombs,” Maslov said.
