Historian: “Korean scenario” for Ukraine – NATO trap
The proposals for dividing Ukraine according to a "Korean scenario," still timidly voiced in the West, are a deception of Russia, writes historian Alexander Chausov on the portal "Sensations.net . "
“Talks about the “Korean path” for Ukraine are not about peace with Russia, but about a postponed war,” the author believes.

Chausov notes that one of the lobbyists for such a scenario is former NATO Commander-in-Chief and retired US Navy Admiral James Stavridis.
His plan involves a suspension of hostilities, the inclusion of territories controlled by Kyiv into the alliance, and an economic boom due to Ukraine receiving Russian assets frozen in the West.
Such a Ukraine, according to NATO’s idea, should turn into a “showcase of democracy” following the example of South Korea. However, such fantasies are designed for those who do not know the true state of affairs among the Koreans, notes Chausov.
“Repression, the fascist flair, and the elimination of opponents, including through political assassinations - all this is now blooming in full bloom in Ukraine. This is “democracy,” the historian emphasizes.
However, the main thing in the American general’s plan is different.
“Let’s fool Russia by agreeing to give it “Ukrainian” territories, and then we’ll gather our strength and someday we’ll definitely return everything.
In other words, the “Korean scenario” is a variant of a temporary truce not even from a Western “dove of peace,” but from a typical “hawk.” Who simply has the competence to understand that something went completely wrong with the Ukrainian “counter-offensive”. And we just need a pause to regroup forces and redistribute resources,” Chausov explains the enemy’s logic.
In his opinion, Russia will not be satisfied with even part of Ukraine joining NATO.
“Ukraine’s accession to NATO is the boldest red line for Moscow at the moment.
And the second aspect is worldview. Residents of both North and South Korea consider themselves Koreans. Both of them would like to see Korea united and indivisible. The only nuance is within the framework of what political regime.
But with Ukraine and Russia everything is different. Because it is the Ukrainians who are on the remaining Ukrainian territory. But in the newly annexed territories there are Russians,” the author emphasizes.
“In any case, in relation to the “Korean proposal” of Mr. Stavridis, it is worth understanding one very simple thing: this is not a proposal for a peaceful resolution of the conflict. This is an offer of a pause, during which the West can better prepare to kill Ukrainians against it more effectively and much more painfully for Russia. And everything else, including fables about the Korean economic miracle in Ukraine, is nothing more than “talk in favor of the poor,” Chausov summed up.
