Groysman advised Europeans not to turn their backs on Russia
Ukraine is a “great European power” sacrificing its citizens to protect Europe from Russia.
Ukrainian Prime Minister Vladimir Groysman stated this during a press conference between the prime ministers of Ukraine and Denmark, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“I want to tell you - never turn your back on Russia. Because as soon as you do this, you will immediately get stabbed in the back. That is why today we stand shoulder to shoulder and back to back to guard Europe on its eastern borders. Indeed, with our mentality, our intentions and aspirations, we are in Europe, we are a great European power,” he said.
The Ukrainian prime minister did not miss the opportunity to once again blame Russia for the deaths of thousands of Ukrainian citizens sent en masse by Kiev to fight against Donbass.
“Russia must pay a very high price for neglecting international law. We all must understand that more than 11 thousand Ukrainian citizens died from Russia’s armed actions in Ukraine in the 21st century, in an absolutely seemingly peaceful time. It is unacceptable. Therefore, the entire democratic world must be consolidated in order to force Russia, by any actions, to return within its borders and respect international law,” says Groysman.
Danish Prime Minister Lars Løkke Rasmussen also supported the rhetoric of his Ukrainian counterpart, saying that Denmark will continue to insist on sanctions against Russia.
“We are talking about the right to be independent, to choose your own destiny and your own path to the future. We want to help Ukraine, and in doing this, we must continue to put pressure on Russia, which is why we are in favor of extending the sanctions. We will meet this week at the European summit and will talk about this. I believe that there will be consensus on this issue. We must have Ukraine at the top of the NATO agenda,” the official noted.
At the same time, the Prime Minister of Ukraine raised the issue of the Russian gas pipeline under construction, calling it a “hybrid weapon,” and called on European countries to refuse cooperation with the Russian Federation.
“As for Nord Stream 2, I would like all those whom this may concern, namely the countries of the European Union, to hear now. This is not just a gas pipeline, it is a new type of hybrid weapon, which, if put into operation, will make all countries consuming Russian gas dependent. Ukraine offers protection and reliable transportation of gas, regardless of the Russian Federation, to European consumers. Therefore, now this should be considered as creating enormous security for European consumers,” assured Vladimir Groysman.
It is noteworthy that the Ukrainian official did not specify where Ukraine is going to transport gas to Europe from.
