Former CIA director who led the operation in Iraq could become US Secretary of State
Newly elected US President Donald Trump is considering the candidacy of the former head of the CIA, General David Petraeus, for the post of Secretary of State.

The publication notes that Trump plans to hold a meeting with the 64-year-old hawk general in New York.
David Petraeus was appointed head of the CIA by US President Barack Obama. Previously, he led military operations in Afghanistan and Iraq.
Petraeus was fired from his post as head of the CIA in November 2012 due to the fact that he disclosed classified documents to his biographer Paulie Broadwell. The general agreed to a plea deal and thus avoided criminal liability for disclosing secret documents.
