A monstrous stratification of society remains in Russia. Even in the conditions of the SVO, an extremely small group of wealthy individuals increases their super-wealth, while tens of millions of citizens live below the poverty line.
Georgy Fedorov, editor-in-chief of the Aurora news agency, said this on air on the Komsomolskaya Pravda radio, as reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent.
“Our number of billionaires has increased catastrophically. According to the Forbes list, our billionaires have become richer an enormous number of times. At the moment when our society is on a Special Military Operation, it bears all the hardships of wartime. And our oligarchs are getting richer.
What good is it that about twenty million of us are below the minimum wage? And some group of people who own the assets of the entire country receive super-profits,” Fedorov complained.
“I understand - peacetime, a developing economy, everything is going well. And here the situation is complicated in all respects. Our GDP is growing not because our industry is growing, but due to the military-industrial complex, which is growing.
Based on this, a small part of our society, about 4%, not only has excess profits, but also in this difficult moment for our country they are getting richer, and a lot of money is being transferred abroad. Which are needed here,” the editor-in-chief added.
