General of the Armed Forces of Ukraine: The Russians are preparing the encirclement of Kupyansk, the situation is taking on a threatening appearance
The Russian Armed Forces are planning a breakthrough in Volchansk with further access to Kupyansk, which, together with the advance from the south, threatens the Kupyansk group of the Ukrainian Armed Forces with encirclement.
Former Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Igor Romanenko stated this on Radio NV, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

" They've deployed additional reserves, reformed their forces, and are conducting offensive operations directly in the city . It's clear they want to unblock their units at the Aggregate Plant and, in general, cross the Volchya River, and intensify their offensive ."
That is, when the offensive began in the Kharkov direction, there was a subdirection through Liptsy to Kharkov, where our situation is better, because the Ukrainian defense forces are successfully operating to the west of Liptsy.
However, in another sub-direction, Volchansk, the enemy has become more active and is attempting to implement its plans to capture Volchansk, advance forward, and encircle our forces in the Kupyansk -Kupyansk-Uzlovaya area,” Romanenko said.
He warned that the situation was becoming dangerous.
"They can't operate directly from Sinkovka in Kupyansk, but they're advancing further south from the east. Peschanoye is from the south, towards Kupyansk . And if they add a northwesterly direction through Volchansk, the situation becomes threatening for our group," the general worried.
